This week’s SCHS Pets of the Week are Anubis and Morgan. To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.
Meet Anubis, our 6-year-old Labrador/Shepherd mix with a strong presence and an even stronger heart. He was surrendered through no fault of his own and is ready for a fresh start with a family who will appreciate everything he brings to the table. Anubis is housebroken and knows come, sit, lay down, off, and drop it. He walks confidently on a loose leash and enjoys getting out to explore. At home, he has a nice “on/off” switch, happy to relax by your side but always up for a run or a game when it’s time for action. Because of his curious nature, a home without cats is best, and he may do better with older kids. Anubis would likely do well with calm, easy-going dogs and a family ready for a loyal companion. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.
Morgan is a 5-month-old white and orange domestic shorthair who came to us as a stray and has quickly shown what a sweet, affectionate boy he is. While he can be a little timid at first, he warms up beautifully, coming to the front of his kennel, rubbing for attention, and happily leaning into your hand. Morgan purrs easily, enjoys being carried, and has proven himself to be a true lap cat who loves pets and grooming. He’s generally quiet and calm, but still playful, especially when it comes to balls and toy mice. With a little patience and love, this gentle guy blossoms into a snuggly companion who just wants to be close and share his big kitten heart. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
Cat and dog adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, and current vaccinations. Please visit our available animals page to view all of our adoptable animals.
