The Shelter is located in West Baraboo at Linn St. (formerly Highway 136), behind Walgreen’s Drug Store, across from Festival Foods and next to the Sauk County Highway Department.
SHELTER HOURS
Animal Drop Off Hours ONLY – Not for viewing the animals:
Sunday: 8 am – 5 pm
Monday: 8 am – 5 pm
Tuesday: 8 am – 5 pm
Wednesday: 8 am – 5 pm
Thursday: 8 am – 5 pm
Friday: 8 am – 5 pm
Saturday: 8 am – 5 pm
After Hours/Closed Days:
If you have an animal emergency or have found a lost animal, please contact Sauk County Dispatch at 608-355-4495 to speak with Animal Control. Animal Control is available 24/7.
Animal Viewing/Meet & Greets:
To MEET an animal, you must fill out an application first and be pre-approved to schedule an appointment. You can find our adoption process here. Please note that you will not be approved to adopt until you’ve met the animal you’re interested in and have completed adoption counseling.
To VIEW the CATS & CRITTERS – You can stop by the shelter during the following hours:
Sunday: 12 pm – 4 pm
Monday: 12 pm – 4 pm
Tuesday: CLOSED
Wednesday: CLOSED
Thursday: 12 pm – 4 pm
Friday: 12 pm – 4 pm
Saturday: 12 pm – 4 pm
To VIEW the DOGS:
We do not allow the public to walk through our dog areas.

Board of Directors
The Sauk County Humane Society holds a monthly board meeting the third Monday every month at 7 p.m. It is held at the Sauk County Animal Shelter. Members in good standing are welcome to attend.
