This week’s SCHS Pets of the Week are Mary Jane and Ebony. To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.

Mary Jane is a 3-year-old terrier mix who came to us when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She can be a little shy at first, but once she knows you’re a friend, her sweet and affectionate personality really shines. She takes treats gently, walks nicely on a leash, enjoys car rides, and has great manners in the home.

She has a fun, playful side too—she loves a good game of fetch, gets the occasional burst of zoomies, and won’t pass up the chance to tear apart a stuffed toy. At 64 pounds, she’s convinced she’s a lap dog and is happiest curled up next to her people. Mary Jane has a medium energy level and would do best in a quieter home. She knows some basic commands, is working on potty training, and is eager to please with a consistent routine. Mary Jane does well with other dogs and kids, and we believe she could also do well with a dog-savvy cat. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

Ebony is a one-year-old black male who came to us as a stray and is still learning that people can be kind. He’s a shy guy at first, but we’ve been seeing some really sweet progress lately. These days, he comes right up to the front of his kennel to say hello and gets excited when it’s his turn to head to the socialization room. He’s still a little unsure in new situations, but once he settles in, he’ll come over for gentle cuddles and happily accept a few treats. Ebony also seems to enjoy a nice grooming session. With a patient home, he’s going to blossom into a loving companion. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.
