Head to our Facebook page now to view all the entries so you can cast your vote for your favorite picture. The top vote getter will be on our cover of the 2025 calendar! The next top 12 favorites will be our exclusive pet of the month picture!!

How to vote (Be careful–“Likes” on the photos are not votes!):

1. Go to https://app.etapestry.com/hosted/SaukCountyHumaneSociety/OnlineDonation.html

2. Enter “Gift Amount”

3. Under “My Gift is For” select Other and type in “Calendar vote”

4. Fill in required donation information

5. In the “Comment” section, type in the photo number you are voting for. (If you are voting for several photos, please indicate how many votes for which photo).

6. Submit! Or, you can call us at the shelter at 608-356-2520 and give us your votes and credit card number over the phone. VOTE OFTEN–STUFFING THE BALLOT BOX IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!

The 2025 Calendar Photo Contest has begun! Entries will be accepted through July 12th, but don’t delay! Get your favorite feline’s face and your adorable pooch’s picture (or cute critter) submitted via email, Dropbox, or by dropping it off at the shelter.

We can’t wait to see the great submissions for this year’s contest! Photographs will be posted on Facebook for voting. Winners will be an exclusive Pet of the Month! (Due to the volume of submissions, only winners will be notified.)

Calendar entry forms are available below!

• Rather than zooming in, move closer to your animal.
• The animal should be in a neutral setting looking at the camera, preferably at eye level.
• Don’t distract the focus of the picture, your animal, with a heavily cluttered background.
• Landscape photos have a much better chance of being selected than portrait.
• If your animal is dark colored, take the photo in front of a lighter background.
• If your animal is light colored, take the photo in front of a darker background.
• Photos representing the changing seasons are desired.
• Natural light is better than flash.
• It might take many photos to get the perfect shot, so start clicking!

• You can submit photos via email, Dropbox, flash drive (mail or in person). Please include completed, legible form.
• Each photo submission is $10 per photo. Payment can be made via cash, check, credit card or through our donation page. If payment is made via our donation site, In the “My gift is for” section, select OTHER then write: CALENDAR PHOTO SUBMISSION. ($10 per photo)
• PHOTO SUBMISSION(S) MUST INCLUDE: Name of pet(s), correct contact information, and payment.

NOTICE:

Only photographs of companion animals will be selected. Pictures submitted must be landscape layout or able to be cropped landscape. All animals must be depicted in a humane and dignified manner. No prong or choke collars. SCHS promotes indoor only cat ownership. No photos of cats outdoors, please. We will accept 4X6 inch prints or larger but prefer high resolution photos. Digital entries must be at least 300 dpi and 2550 x 2550 pixels to be considered. We cannot accept black and white or Polaroid images. If your entry was taken by a professional photographer or commercial studio, you must mail a signed copyright release to the SCHS. All entries must be received by the SCHS no later than July 12, 2024 to be considered. Photos become the property of SCHS and may be used and/or altered for the 2025 calendar and for other fundraising efforts. You will be notified ONLY if your photo is chosen for the cover or as a Photo of the Month.
